About and missions

The Ministry of Solidarity, Social Integration, and the Family is the national government authority responsible for formulating, coordinating, and assessing public policies regarding social welfare, family welfare, child protection, elderly care, and disability inclusion across Morocco. The Ministry exercises direct oversight over major statutory bodies including Entraide Nationale and the National Institute of Social Action (INAS) in Tangier, orchestrating inter-ministerial social cohesion strategies.

In the sphere of psychosocial health and social vulnerability, the Ministry directs flagship initiatives: modernizing Social Protection Institutions (EPS), financing civil society organizations assisting individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism via the Social Cohesion Fund, and expanding the national network of multifunctional listening and shelter hubs for women experiencing domestic violence. The Ministry also spearheads the accreditation of the social work profession while promoting community family mediation to preserve stability across vulnerable households.

Institutional Support for Inclusive Schooling of Children with Disabilities

Educational inclusion and functional autonomy for children with cognitive, psychological, or physical disabilities represent a core national equity commitment. Through the Social Cohesion Fund, the Ministry provides direct subventions to specialized associations delivering speech therapy, psychomotor rehabilitation, specialized education, and clinical psychology casework within mainstream schools or dedicated centers, lifting financial strain from households and encouraging inclusive growth.

Strengthening Protective Reception Infrastructure for Vulnerable Women

To construct a structured safety net for women confronting abuse and economic distress, the Ministry is expanding the territorial footprint of Multifunctional Centers for Women (EMF). These public facilities, co-managed alongside certified non-profit associations, guarantee emergency protective intake, confidential psychological counseling, healthcare and judicial referrals, and economic empowerment workshops essential to permanently breaking abusive cycles.
