MarocPsy is pleased to announce its participation in the first international conference, “Applications of Psychoanalysis in Mental Health Care and Social Work”, taking place in Agadir from February 5 to 7, 2027.
The conference is jointly organized by the Freudian Thought Platform for Psychoanalysis and Philosophy and the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Ibn Zohr University in Agadir. We invite researchers, academics, mental health practitioners, and social workers to contribute to three days of clinical discussion and academic exchange, in person or online.
Conference Focus and Themes
The conference examines how psychoanalytic theory can inform practice within institutions. Discussions will cover three themes:
Theme 01
Clinical and Institutional Practice
Exploring the role and potential of psychoanalysis in mental health care and social care. This theme considers how psychoanalytic listening can help practitioners understand contemporary distress and emerging symptoms while working within the constraints of care services.
Theme 02
Dialogue Across Disciplines
Bringing psychoanalysis into conversation with philosophy, sociology, anthropology, and law. This theme examines the methods that underpin professional intervention and the ethics of the helping relationship.
Theme 03
Subjectivity, Social Bonds, and Contemporary Institutions
Examining changes in social bonds and subjectivity, and the place of the individual as a subject within contemporary institutions. This theme connects university research with the ethical questions that arise in everyday practice.
