1 Aims and process
The session begins with a discussion of the request and the person’s health. The practitioner explains the process, precautions and possible adverse effects; the person may ask to stop the session.
2 Scope and limitations
The practitioner’s qualifications and hygiene conditions should be made clear. Indications and the level of evidence vary by situation; this practice does not replace a medical assessment or necessary treatment.
