About and missions

Founded in 1999 in Fes, Initiatives for the Protection of Women’s Rights (IPDF) serves as a cornerstone for combating gender-based violence across the Fes-Meknes region. The association oversees the operation of the landmark Batha Multifunctional Centre, created through collaboration between civil society, regional authorities, and national ministries.

The Batha Centre brings together all services required for survivors of domestic and gender violence: immediate physical security in protective quarters, medical triage, intensive psychological trauma therapy, and ongoing court advocacy. Through tailored vocational training, IPDF empowers survivors to transition from crisis to financial independence and restored self-worth.

Support and services

Round-the-clock emergency walk-in intake, empathetic crisis listening, and safety evaluations for women and accompanying children.
Protective residential shelter at Batha Centre providing complete living support (nutritious meals, hygiene, healthcare, physical safety).
One-on-one clinical psychological consultations focused on post-traumatic stress recovery, anxiety relief, and emotional regulation.
Pro-bono legal advocacy, legal drafting, and courtroom representation in family and criminal proceedings.
Empowerment workshops, peer support circles, and human rights educational modules.
Vocational skills certification in artisanal crafts, culinary trades, sewing, and micro-enterprise management.
Independent housing relocation support and post-shelter reintegration casework.
