Clarifying goals and navigating life transitions: turning aspirations into concrete achievements

Structured, solution-focused support for reaching a personal milestone, overcoming limiting beliefs and aligning choices with fundamental values.

1 What distinguishes personal coaching

Life coaching is a pragmatic form of support centred on the present and firmly oriented towards the future. Unlike psychotherapy, which explores the “why” of past suffering, coaching focuses on the “how”: how to mobilise inner resources, set an inspiring direction and overcome fear of the unknown to realise a freely chosen life project.

2 An established method: the GROW model and SMART goals

Support draws on powerful questioning frameworks such as GROW: Goal, defining the target; Reality, examining the current situation; Options, exploring possibilities; and Will, formalising a committed action plan. The coach ensures that each goal is SMART: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound, avoiding unproductive dispersal of effort.

3 Situations suited to a coaching programme

This expertise is particularly beneficial during a major life transition, such as a career change, retirement, a move or separation, and for overcoming paralysing procrastination, developing assertiveness or restoring a harmonious balance between professional and personal life.

4 Ethical framework and empowerment of the person being coached

A clear contract defines the number of sessions, generally 8 to 12 meetings, and indicators of success. The certified coach provides no ready-made answers, acting instead as a catalyst for awareness and strengthening the client’s personal responsibility and autonomy in decision-making.

5 Measuring interim results and empowering the client

Each coaching session reviews actions taken since the previous meeting, analysing successes and obstacles encountered. The process strengthens self-regulation and decision-making, enabling the person to continue on their path in full independence.
