Autism Morocco Collective (CAM)
National umbrella network uniting autism organisations across Morocco, advancing early diagnosis, professional workforce training, inclusive schooling, and family psychoeducation.
About and missions
Founded to coordinate civil society initiatives and advocate for evidence-based policies, the Autism Morocco Collective (CAM) convenes dozens of member associations across Morocco’s twelve regions. The collective champions scientifically validated psycho-educational interventions (including TEACCH, ABA, and PECS protocols) while opposing outdated non-therapeutic practices. CAM conducts extensive family psychoeducation workshops, provides certified training for special education instructors, and collaborates closely with the Ministry of National Education to establish inclusive classrooms and train shadow teachers. Functioning as a vital bridge between international scientific discoveries and local realities, the Autism Morocco Collective advocates for a progressive understanding of neurodiversity. It dismantles pervasive societal stigmas while promoting universal access to evidence-based therapies from early childhood.

CAM plays a decisive role in shaping Morocco’s national autism strategies. It ensures that the fundamental rights of autistic individuals to evidence-based healthcare, autonomy, and civic inclusion are firmly enshrined within legislative reforms and social policies. Systematic institutional advocacy also targets academic testing accommodations and customized vocational pathways, enabling autistic adults to access fulfilling employment matched to their unique cognitive strengths.
Early detection, parental guidance and psychoeducation
To address prolonged diagnostic delays, CAM supports families from the onset of initial developmental concerns. Parent support circles and structured psychoeducational modules help families comprehend their child’s sensory profile and deploy adapted communication techniques at home. These parent guidance modules equip families with structured behavioral observation tools to detect sensory overload and emotional fatigue early, creating calming home environments that reduce distress-induced challenging behaviors.
Professional training and educational inclusion
CAM vigorously champions universal inclusive education. It runs rigorous professional development workshops for classroom teachers and school staff to implement sensory-friendly instructional adjustments and positive behavioral accommodations.
