About and missions

Founded in 1997 in Marrakech, Association Ennakhil for Women and Children is one of the most prominent civil society organizations defending women's human rights and family welfare across Morocco. At its inception, the association pioneered the region's first specialized Listening and Legal-Psychological Guidance Center for women survivors of gender-based violence. Domestic abuse, whether physical, sexual, emotional, or economic, inflicts profound psychological injury, including clinical depression, acute panic, and severe trauma. Ennakhil provides survivors with an integrated team of trained listeners, clinical psychologists, and legal practitioners.

The association implements a holistic intervention model uniting crisis intake, transitional shelter referrals, vocational training, and legislative advocacy. Its psychological desk provides individual psychotherapy and confidential group therapy circles that shatter cycles of shame and isolation. Concurrently, Ennakhil spearheads innovative micro-enterprise incubators for women and conducts mobile awareness caravans throughout the High Atlas mountains to combat early child marriage and facilitate legal and psychological support.

Psychological Rebuilding: From Crisis Victim to Resilient Survivor

Repeated psychological and physical domestic abuse shatters self-worth and traps survivors in paralyzing guilt and anxiety. Ennakhil clinical psychologists work intentionally to restore internal safety and dismantle the psychological dynamics of domestic control. Through patient psychotherapeutic accompaniment, women process trauma, reclaim decision-making autonomy, and rebuild stable lives, insulating their children from intergenerational trauma.

Economic Independence: An Essential Shield Against Repeated Domestic Violence

Financial dependence is the single most frequent factor compelling women to remain with an abusive partner. To break this dependency permanently, Ennakhil developed practical vocational workshops in tailoring, culinary trades, and financial literacy. Women acquire reliable income-earning skills and discover entrepreneurship. This concrete economic autonomy consolidates therapeutic gains and ensures permanent safety for the family unit.
