About and missions
Operating in Morocco since 1985 and recognised as a public utility association, SOS Children’s Villages Morocco is placed under the honorary presidency of Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa. Its distinctive model keeps biological siblings together in nurturing family homes led by certified SOS mothers, providing emotional security and lifelong attachments. Across its six villages in Casablanca (Dar Bouazza), Agadir, Ait Ourir, Imzouren, El Jadida, and Dakhla, the association combines family strengthening programs preventing child abandonment with rigorous, trauma-informed child psychological care. Each village home provides dependable daily routines and warm, respectful intimacy, enabling children to flourish in an atmosphere of enduring security.

The cornerstone of SOS Villages is its resolute departure from traditional institutionalized orphanages. Each child grows up in a dedicated family home with biological and foster siblings, under the loving and dependable guidance of an SOS mother through early adulthood. SOS mothers undergo comprehensive, continuous training in developmental child psychology, equipping them to respond with informed patience and empathetic discernment to abandonment anxieties and attachment wounds.
Child psychological follow-up and emotional recovery
Having frequently endured early childhood abandonment or neglect, incoming children receive exhaustive psychological evaluations. Clinical therapists deliver ongoing individual support aimed at healing attachment traumas and rebuilding core resilience.
Family strengthening and transition to autonomy
Through its community Family Strengthening Programs, the organisation empowers single mothers and marginalized households via psychosocial counseling, material relief, and micro-grant income-generating activities, mitigating abandonment risks before breakdown occurs. Youth transition programming integrates academic scholarships, semi-independent supervised youth housing, and personalized psychological coaching, ensuring confident entry into adult professional life without abrupt relational disruption.
